CANZ basic models and prices are under review. Please check current levels with one of the accredited CANZ recyclers.
Below are the general conditions that apply:
• CANZ computers range between basic workhorses (Pentium III-500) and Pentium IV machines that have been recently retired from corporate use.
• All systems have a 17” monitor, CD-ROM drive, soundcard, mouse, keyboard and network connections. The hard drives on older models are small by new machine standards, but they’re adequate within a school network. Larger hard drives and memory upgrades are available at modest cost. Prices are lower if you downgrade to a 15” monitor or if you opt to load software yourself. Prices may also drop for quantity purchases.
• Under the Ministry of Education’s licence arrangement with Microsoft, systems are pre-loaded with Windows XP Pro (or other Windows version if you ask for it). All CANZ computers run most software commonly used in schools – including free-to-schools Microsoft packages such as Office XP and Encarta, which are also pre-loaded. Other software can be pre-loaded by arrangement.
• CANZ machines are also sold as stand-alones or in pre-configured network pods and suites.
