CentralNet Cluster
Waipukurau and Waipawa Primary Schools jointly lead a cluster of
17 schools in the CentralNet project.
"Our geographical location often means we miss out on services offered
to schools in larger centres," said Waipawa School principal
and project director Olwyn Johnston. "CentralNet uses local expertise
to meet local needs. It is a very exciting project to be involved
in."
Remote schools have difficulty accessing professional development,
technical expertise, and support. CentralNet will provide support
especially tailored for Central Hawke's Bay schools.
The programme has three main phases: initiation, implementation,
and institutionalisation. An important outcome will be the enhancement
of the existing interdependent and collaborative nature of Central
Hawke's Bay schools. CentralNet is one of the 2001–2003
ICT PD Clusters.
