How Mathematics Fits Into The New Zealand Curriculum

Mathematics is one of the seven essential learning areas in the New Zealand Curriculum

The New Zealand Curriculum Framework WHEN WAS THE MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM DOCUMENT PUBLISHED?

A national curriculum statement for mathematics, Mathematics in the New Zealand Curriculum, was published in 1992.

Statements on all the above learning areas are being published in turn and each will be featured in a what 's new? pamphlet, providing answers to parents' questions about the new curriculum.
WHAT DO SCHOOLS HAVE TO DO?

The new curriculum is being phased into schools over several years.

All primary and intermediate schools, and secondary schools up to form five, will now be teaching to the new mathematics curriculum.
