Kia orana, fakaalofa lahi atu, taloha ni, talofa lava, malo e lelei, and welcome to the news page for the Pasifika Nations Educator's Association (PNEA). We value your feedback and ideas, and invite you to contact us pnea@tki.org.nz
What's New
The Pasifika Nations Educators' Association (PNEA) was formed as a result of the first Educating Pasifika Positively Conference held in Auckland 1999. The participants at the conference determined that a major outcome for the conference was to form a Pasifika national educators association to strengthen their position within the education sector. It was with this resolution that the interim executive committee was established and a strategy developed for forming a national association.
Objectives of the PNEA
- To promote the opportunities for Pasifika educators to generate ongoing interest groups in relation to Pasifika education.
- To collaborate with existing Pasifika education networks to invite continual contributions, and to support the use of the online resources.
- To promote the PNEA website as a current online resource for all stakeholders in education to view the current status of Pasifika education in New Zealand.

Welcome to the first news page for PNEA, from the PNEA committee. We are currently focused on completing the necessary documents to support the formalisation and organisation of PNEA.
One major focus of the committee is to identify networking opportunities that different regions have created, particularly in the regions where there are only a small number of Pasifika educators. PNEA executive members have taken the initiative to organise functions or events that encourage educators to meet on a regular basis and present regional updates and activities at these meetings.
