The Tupu series provides schools with resources for students who speak or are learning Pasifika languages. Teachers' notes support these resources.
Valigā Magō by Vaitoa Baker

The new Tokelauan language title, Valigā Magō (item 30378), is suited to the interests and needs of children in early childhood education but can be used across the curriculum levels. Author and illustrator Vaitoa Baker has a close personal understanding of the enjoyment and challenge of art and design. His story tells of two boys who love painting. This title is also available as:

Tupu CD 4
This audio CD offers students the opportunity to listen to or read along with stories from the Cook Islands, Niue, Sāmoa, Tokelau, and Tonga. Each story is read in the Pasifika language in which it was first written and in English. The backing music was composed and performed for the stories by Vitale and Matalena Tionisio. The five titles are:
- Ngaahi Me'a 'Oku Sai'ia Taha ai 'a Finau' (Tongan, book item 30421)
- 'E Tīvaevae nō Rōpati (Cook Islands Māori, book item 30380)
- 'O le Fa'ase'ega (Sāmoan, book item 30677)
- Ko e Tau Fiti Lose Lanu Moana (Niuean, book item 30386)
- Valigā Magō (Tokelauan, book item 30378).
These stories will help students to engage with and enjoy spoken language and understand, respond to, and use oral language effectively in a range of contexts. Listening to these recordings will help build confidence and fluency.
