Drama Posters

Drama Poster.

In the drama convention “role on the wall”, elements of an important role are mapped out on a large sheet of paper, which may be pinned up on the wall. Students can return to it to check on their earlier thinking or to add information as the role develops.

The Drama Posters will put drama itself “on the wall”. The six full-colour, A1-sized posters are intended to stimulate class discussion and encourage students in years 1–13 to explore and participate in drama. The posters look at the following key aspects of drama:

The posters are supported by online teachers’ notes, which provide teachers with starter questions and suggestions for classroom use as well as links to the curriculum and to other drama resources. The notes can be accessed at Drama Posters.

Although each poster has a suggested age-range, the full set is being distributed to both primary and secondary schools, and all six posters can be directly used, or adapted for use, in each setting. As just one example, the poster 6 photograph of Jacob Rajan using mask in a professional production (Krishnan’s Dairy) could be related to the younger students using masks on posters 1 and 4 or to the mask shot of students in years 9–13 on poster 2.

Item (poster set) 31940.

Distribution

Up to a maximum of three sets of this resource were distributed in early March to primary schools and one set to secondary schools. Additional copies can be purchased for the education price of $19.30 (set). Please note that the posters cannot be purchased separately.
