Journal of Young People’s Writing 2006
Into the Wild, this year’s Journal of Young People’s Writing, features impressive writing and artwork from students in years 1–6. The twenty-five pieces of writing were chosen for their originality and quality. Some are thought-provoking, some are humorous, some are imaginative, and some are purely for fun. The writing covers a wide range of topics in different genres for use in language programmes.
There is something in this journal for everyone. With items ranging from the hilarious poem about “Ten Crazy Crabs” who are looking for their tea, to the very interesting “Interview with Maui”, which tells you what his job is, Into the Wild brings together a superb variety of reading.
Teachers will be able to use items from this Journal for shared reading, guided reading, and reading aloud to a class. All of the items are, of course, great models for children’s writing.
