Te Tangata Whai Rawa o Wēniti
Dr Pei Te Hurinui Jones first translated Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice into te reo in 1945, creating the text adapted by Don Selwyn for theatre and then for film as Te Tangata Whai Rawa o Wēniti. The cast of vibrant young actors will appeal to secondary students.

I rokohanga ko ngā mahi papori: te whawhai o te tangata ki te tangata; te hononga whanaungatanga; te karawhiu o te ture; ngā aituā ki te moana. He mahi hoki tēnei a Tākuta Pei Te Hurinui Jones rāua ko Tākuta Don Selwyn. Nā rāua i akiaki te kaupapa hei puna wai oranga mō te iwi Māori. Heoi, he taonga tēnei mō ngā iwi katoa ahakoa Māori, ahakoa Pākehā.
Ko Te Waiārani Herewini tētahi o ngā kaiwhakamāori o te pukapuka mā ngā ākonga. Ko te wairua Māori hei ārahi i te mātauranga Māori.
