Technology achievement objectives
The draft achievement objectives for technology were not finalised in time to be included along with the achievement objectives for the other learning areas in the recently released draft New Zealand curriculum. They are currently being printed as a supplement, and will be mailed to schools just before or immediately after the September-October school holidays.
Te Marautanga o Aotearoa
Ka tō he rā
Ka rere he rā.
(A sun sets. A day is born.)
The curriculum for students learning in te reo Māori in level 1 and 2 settings will consist of two parts: a national framework and sections for the different learning areas. For each learning area, there will be a brief description (essence statement) of what is unique to that area, a compact set of whainga paetae (achievement objectives), and a glossary of specialist terms. The draft for discussion will have a strong focus on Māori pedagogical practices and learning contexts and on effective learning strategies.
Note: Schools are reminded that draft curriculum documents for discussion remain the property of the school, not the individual teacher, while final curriculum documents are the private property of individual teachers.
The Māori alphabet frieze
