Ombudsman
The Ombudsman investigates complaints made by people/members of the public about a government organization. To protect consumers from unfair government policy and practice.
Group 2
Citizens Advice Bureaux
Provide free confidential information and advice to people about a query or complaint. To help people get a fair deal, information about a query or problem free of charge.
Group 3
Broadcasting Standards Authority
The BSA investigates complaints from viewers/listeners, asks the broadcaster to comment on the complaint, then examines all the evidence and makes a decision. To establish and maintain acceptable standards of broadcasting on all NZ radio and TV.
Group 4
Advertising Standard Authority
Determines whether an advertiser has breached the codes of practice. To make sure that advertising is not misleading or deceptive.
Group 5
NZ Press Council
Investigates complaints made against a publication. To provide the public with an independent forum for resolution of complaints against the press.
