Shopping for a party
Discussion point: The purpose and value of budgeting. (Budgeting is working
out how much one has to spend, what one would like to buy and what one can
really afford.)
Activity: Help your friend budget for a party.
Working in groups of four, each person visits a different supermarket and
calculates the cost for items on the
shopping list. Calculate
the cost of the items at each supermarket and, based on your findings, make
a decision as to which supermarket provides the best deal. Present all the
information on a chart.
