How laws are made

  • Design a rule you'd like to see implemented at school. How could you get this passed. Plan who you'll need to approach, (principal, B.O.T.) Design the steps thoroughly using Word processing or paper.

  • Interview the Principal or the Staff Rep on the B.O.T. to see how they get a rule or policy passed.

  • Not everyone can understand the written word of rules at school especially if you can't read. Design a set of signs that rely on symbols to get the message across. Look at road signs to help you.

  • Survey others in and out of your class about rules they would like to change. Present a case to the Principal using processes similar to making a law to get a change. Remember to show the advantages of the change and the benefits to the school community.
