This assignment provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their
knowledge and understandings within an action learning Inquiry
that identifies different ways Ancient Egyptians recorded the past.
The framework is provided by the deciding, finding, using, notetaking ,
bibliography sheets. The teacher will give the students opportunities to
practice new learning and directs the inquiry. The students are responsible for
finding (from a variety of sources), collecting, recording, processing and
communicating the information in an appropriate way.
Achievement Objective:
Inquiry: Implement the processes and reflect and evaluate the steps they
have taken and their findings.
Learning outcomes:
Carry out a Social Studies Inquiry that identifies different ways Ancient Egyptians
recorded the past.
Students will be able to:
- Frame questions to focus their inquiry.
- Find information from at least 3 different media sources.
- Collect, collate and analyse information.
- Process information using their own words and check the validity of this
information.
- Make valid statements and/or generalisations that are supported and
justified by their information.
- Communicate findings.
- Use criteria to complete self evaluation and complete individual peer
evaluation.
- Manage time without any teacher input.
