Each student writes their name in hieroglyphics on a piece of card in any
order, eg. Smith Joanne Lesley for Lesley Joanne Smith. These then become
the Rosetta tablets. Each card is numbered and the task is to try and solve
all the names first.
Artifact Hunt
An artifact is any object made or utilized by humans.
Have a collection of different objects that the children can try to
determine their use. Ask parents, Grandparents etc. to send along unusual
objects.
Resources needed:
- Rulers and/or measuring tape.
- Index cards
- Unusual objects.
Discuss with the children that descriptions should include
- Size (exact measurements)
- Shape
- Colour
- Type of construction material (glass, wood, plastic, stone)
- Method of construction (hand made / machine made)
- Possible uses.
Children choose an artifact and write a description card to become part of a
