Why did the Egyptians make mummies?
How did they preserve the bodies?
What do the Egyptians believe about the afterlife?
Why was it important to have a name when you died?

Life size Mummies.
Materials needed:
- Large pieces of brown paper.
- Paints, crayons or felts.
- Newspaper for stuffing.
Lay the brown paper on the floor. Student lies down on the paper with legs
together. Draw around the body shape. Cut two identical pieces. Decorate
using Egyptian style painting.
Staple together leaving the feet or head open. Loosely crumple newspaper and
stuff inside the body. Staple opening shut. Display mummies around the room.

Make Your Own Mummy:
For this project you will need:
- Plasticene
- Plaster of Paris bandages
- Paint (acrylic will work best -- BUT it doesn't wash off,
so be careful)
- Paintbrushes
- Scissors
- The right attitude
Make model mummies and display.
