- be able to explain how past events in Taranaki and violations of the
Treaty of Waitangi, influenced relationships between Maori and European in
the last century.

- List the facts about Treaty grievances in Taranaki and describe the feelings this caused Maori and how it impacted on their relationships with Pakeha-European.

- Be able to identify some solutions for Maori and Pakeha-European when addressing Treaty grievances of the past and some consequences of these actions.

- Identify three solutions/ideas for Maori and Pakeha-European suggesting how to proceed from here and a range of positive and negative consequences of these ideas.
