Conservationists and environmental groups (the greenies) tend to see large multinational or transnational organisations as the greedies of the world, exploiting resources and ripping off indigenous peoples.

The Greenies' Perspective
Once upon a time, McDonalds took two Greenpeace activists to court for libel. The case dragged on for years and became known as the McLibel Case. A Web site, McSpotlight, was set up on behalf of the McLibel Two as the defendants became known. McSpotlight has extended its attack on multinational companies beyond McDonalds.

  1. Students select one of the companies targeted by McSpotlight, eg. BP the company and use an IChart to summarise the arguments against the company.

  2. The Company's Perspective
Next, they find out the company's side of the story eg. BP the company and add their perspective to the IChart.

  3. My Opinion is...
Finally, the students outline their perspective on the actions of their selected multinational company as they access and use resources by completing an Opinion-proof chart.
