Level 3 Achievement objective: How leadership is acquired and exercised
Students will be able to:
- Identify the range of roles Sir Edmund Hillary took on during his ascent of Mt. Everest and some strategies he used to fulfil them.
- Describe the ways that Sir Edmund Hillary acquired and exercised leadership during the ascent.
- Identify the skills and knowledge Sir Edmund Hillary needed to use and develop to be successful in achieving his goals.
- Describe some ways that his knowledge and skills as a leader have been exercised after his successful ascent of Mt. Everest.

The inquiry process is ongoing throughout this learning

Students will be able to:
- collect information and process it.
- make generalisations, draw conclusions and communicate them
- reflect upon their processes and findings and evaluate them.

Inquiry is not necessarily sequential and can be undertaken at varying stages of learner independence.
