How people organise themselves in response to challenge and crisis.
Students will be able to:
- describe challenges encountered by the team during their ascent.
- identify a range of tools and strategies people used to organise themselves in response to challenges and crises during the ascent of Mt. Everest
- identify ways that planning and organisation helped Sir Edmund Hillary and other team members meet the challenges encountered in the ascent of Mt. Everest.
- describe the ways Sir Edmund Hillary has applied his skills and qualities in responding to challenge, after the ascent.
Processes
Inquiry The inquiry process is ongoing throughout this learning Students will be able to:
- collect information and process it;
- make generalisations, draw conclusions and communicate them;
- reflect upon their processes and findings and evaluate them. Inquiry is not necessarily sequential and can be undertaken at varying stages of learner independence.
