Use the text of Focus 2 to consider:

  • depicting Sir Edmund Hillary's description of the landscape
  • showing how the tools outlined in the text will be used to help in the climb.
  • the significance of the people (human resources) in this attempt at climbing Mt. Everest
  • defining glacier, moraine heaps, seracs
  • the cultural features (Pangboche) of the landscape and the ways they reflect the environments they are in.
