After having read and/or listened to the audio tape of the chapters in Borany's Story that describe the period immediately
after the Vietnamese invaded (Allez A L'Ouest and No Turning
Back) and the chapter about Khao-I-Dang refugee camp, complete the following activity.
On your own or in a group:
- Outline three reasons why the family moved from Pursat to Battambang;
- Outline three reasons why the family moved from Battambang to Thailand;
- Identify some of the short and long term consequences of each move for the
family;
- Describe the impact of the arrival of people on cities like Battambang;
- Describe the impact of the arrival of Cambodians on Thailand.
You can choose how you present your information but whichever method you
choose it must allow you to answer all the questions.
