Students draw a simple road (narrower at the top and wider at the bottom to
create an illusion of perspective) on a full page in their books, or on a
large sheet of paper if the activity is to be done in groups.
Each date from the Timeline will be represented by a signpost along the
road. The first signpost will be Jews escaping from Nazism in the 1930s. The
most recent are Bosnians in the late 1990s.
Refugee groups identified in the Timeline include:
Jews from Nazi Germany; Polish children; Hungarians; Chinese; Czechs;
Ugandans; Chileans; Soviet Jews; Indo-Chinese including Cambodians and
Vietnamese; Baha'i from Iran; Assyrian Christians from Iraq; Somalis;
Bosnians.
