Borany's Story was published by Learning Media in 1991 and sent free to all secondary schools. Copies can still be obtained from Learning Media, Item Number 91/203. A Teachers Guide (Item Number 91/204) was also produced but is now out of print. It contains useful background information about Cambodia.

The family in the story typify what happened to so many Cambodian families during this period in Cambodian history. Other even more horrific stories by Killing Fields survivors and supporting information can be found at Yale University's very comprehensive Cambodian Genocide Project site.
Mardi Seng's story has a number of parallels with Borany's story and could be used as an alternative case study.

Perhaps the most well known survivor of the Cambodian holocaust is Dith Pran whose story was told in the movie The Killing Fields.
