  1. How do they affect people and places?
    Students work in pairs or small groups. Each group chooses one or two of the personal stories of landmine victims from around the world.

    Student A is a journalist about to interview a landmine victim (or victims) about:

    • Who they are;
    • Where they live;
    • What has happened them;
    • When it happened;
    • Why it happened;
    • Who was responsible.

    Record your questions and answers.

  2. What are landmines exactly?
    Students create a CD Map or Word Map to define Landmines.

  3. What do they do to people?
    Images of landmine victims and mined places.

  4. Students construct a large Mind Map using the headings:

    They must choose an appropriate symbol for the centre of their Mind Map.
