Who knows what could happen to Antarctica in the future. The Antarctic Treaty, along with others (e.g. The Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Seals, The Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine life, THE Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty etc) protects Antarctica now. But as world history shows, treaties are often broken. Create a timeline like the one below. At the start of the timeline name some important events and developments that have happened over the human history of Antarctica. The timeline then splits in two. Predict probable events that could occur in the future and say how these events could be influenced.
