Link Asia 2000
A wealth of information about Asia, including visiting Asia, and educating for Asia. Asia 2000 works toward a mutual understanding between New Zealand and our Asian neighbours. Units are available online and a large number of them link to the Social Studies curriculum.

Looking for good sites on China? This cooperative effort of fifteen classrooms from around the world brings these sites to you. Teachers provide support, but students select, evaluate and annotate all resources.

The Iraq Journal provides a collection of regular reports from Iraq. The Iraq Journal provides an excellent collection of regular reports from Iraq. It provides a more balanced view than CNN and is co-ordinated by independent journalists.

If you are looking for background information on any of the Middle Eastern countries, then this work from the University of Texas provides an excellent, reasonably unbiased view of the politics, economy, history and lifestyles of these countries.

Link Teach Vietnam: Echoes from the Wall
An excellent resource for the study of Vietnam and issues related to that - war, heritage, history. Graphics are good but slow to use at times. The virtual wall is effective and quite moving. Every name of the soldiers killed/missing in action could be linked from the virtual wall experience to a photo and caption about him or her. Lesson plans may be accessed through the Teachers' Guide link on the Educators page and can be downloaded and printed.

Sitation A beautiful and fascinating site that takes you on a virtual tour through the city of Edo (now known as Tokyo). Here you will learn a great deal about the history of the city and the people, and you will see a large number of wonderful images - maps paintings and etchings, many of which feature roll-overs.
