Design a SIX piece
jigsaw template
(you may find the template
in Our Melting Pot
a useful starting point).
Each piece of the jigsaw needs to be about A3 size. Take six A3 sheets and
trim them with good old fashioned scissors to fit the template outline
shapes.
Organise the class into six groups and allocate one of the six Key Terms
(efficiency, calculability, predictability, control, rationalisation,
irrationality) to each group.
The groups prepare a summary definition of their Key Term, with at least one
graphic.
Each group in turn explains their term to the rest of the class who check it
for accuracy, suggest improvements, ask questions - ie. peer assess.
When each segment of the jigsaw is complete pin it up on the wall for future
reference.
This material has been produced by UNITEC Institute of Technology
under contract to the Ministry of Education.
