Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to:

  • Explain how the environment was used by early Maori settlers.
  • Identify how the activities of early Maori settlers are reflected in the environment today.
  • Use questions to frame an inquiry.

Criteria for Credit:

Students are able to:

  • Use appropriate conventions in their presentation (title, headings, pictures)
  • Present information on early Maori settler land use identifying at least two reasons why the activity was important.
  • Present information on early Maori settler land use identifying at least one short term and one long term effect.
  • List at least one source.
  • State the existence of the activity today.
  • Include accurate information in their display page.

Criteria for Merit:

Students are able to:
