Activity
Write a speech to convince an audience that rules and laws need to be enforced to maintain order. Use examples from the Middle Ages to support your argument.

LEVEL 2
Write instructions and explanations, state facts and opinions in a range of authentic contexts.

Key Indicators

Students will be able to:

  • write an opening statement that reveals a viewpoint
  • include in an argument two situations as supporting evidence from the Middle Ages
  • Conclude with a personal statement

LEVEL 3
Write instructions, explanations and factual accounts, and express personal viewpoints in a range of authentic contexts, sequencing ideas logically.

Key Indicators

Students will be able to:

  • Write an opening paragraph that introduces the argument
  • Use language relevant to argument ie I believe·
  • Include four situations from the Middle Ages as supporting evidence for argument
  • Information set out in a planned and logical way
  • Conclude argument with summary paragraph
