- Write the word 'Ideas' in the centre of the board with four
branches off it. Play 'hangman' to find out what the 4 categories are
(religion, political, economic, social). Or you may prefer to
give the class the categories.
- Divide the class into four groups.
- Each group will be given a category and they are to try to come up
with as many ideas as possible to go under the heading (at least 3 - 4).
For example: Religion - The ideas of Mohammad (Islam Religion)
- Each group is to pass their list of ideas onto the group
to the right of them.
- The next group will then think of some actions to go with the ideas.
For example: a social idea might be, "all people have the right to be
free". The action could be, Amnesty International run campaigns
to raise public awareness; write letters to governments of countries who
abuse human rights (some ideas will have more than one action. List as
many as possible.)
- Create a
brick wall to go on the wall of the classroom.
Groups are to write each
idea and action for each idea onto a brick shaped card.
Religion could all be one colour, political all another colour and so on.
For example:
|
IDEA: To increase the leaving age of school from 16 to 17.
ACTION:
- Survey people about idea
- Petitions to Parliament
- Advertising etc.
|
IDEA: The ideas of Mohammad and the Islam religion.
ACTION:
- Ideas recorded in the Koran
- Way of life (eating certain things, Ramadan, etc)
