How to find resources.
There are three ways to find resources on the special education community. You can:
All the resources and websites that you will find have been catalogued by the Te Kete Ipurangi – The Online Learning Centre (TKI) team and approved by the Ministry of Education.
Resources pages.
Use these pages to find resources that have been grouped under the three broad headings of Learning and teaching, Māori, and Policies.
Site map.
The site map is like a table of contents of a publication. It lists the sections of the Special Education community, and all the pages within each section.
Search function.
The search function is a simple, easy to use way of looking for the kinds of resources you want that are catalogued on the TKI website.
Basic search.
To use basic search, enter your keywords in the box.
You can limit your search to only special education resources by leaving the tick in the box next to the statement "Search only for special education resources". If you want your search to include everything on TKI which is relevant to your key words, remove the tick from the box.
Advanced search.
You can use the advanced search to ask in more detail for what you want to find. You can select from a menu of resource terms by ticking in the boxes alongside.
Search results.
The search results contain a refine search option where you can go back and tick more options to refine your search. You can also select New Search to start again with new keywords.
Each result on the search results page includes the following if they apply to the resource:
- its title;
- a brief description of the resource;
- a link to the resource if it is on the Internet;
- the Internet address (URL)
- a link to the full record of the resource with all its TKI cataloguing details;
- the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) or International Standard Serial Number (ISSN).
