More about the Special Education Search. The tspecial education search function is a modified version of the Te Kete Ipurangi – The Online Learning Centre (TKI) search engine. It searches the same database records. In the special education community search only the layout of the search query screens and results is different to those in the main search engine. What is a "full record"?A resource's "full record" shows the metadata (or cataloguing details) for that resource. If you select the Full Record link you can find information about the creator, publisher, location, and copyright holder of a resource, and the keywords and classifications that have been used to catalogue the resource. URLs within the full record are linked. Other links within the full record will perform a search, based on themselves. This means, for example, you can search for other resources on TKI that have the same keyword or resource type. The top row of the metadata record gives the identification (ID) number (on TKI) of the resource. This is for administrative purposes only. The other rows give entries for metadata elements. Each row has the name of the metadata element in the first column, the entry for it in the second column, and the encoding system of the entry in the third column. The metadata records use the Dublin Core (www.dublincore.org) metadata element set, as well as other elements created for TKI. Numbering. The number that appears next to some resources, and full record links is to enable navigation by some screen readers. |
