Meeting National Responsibilities
The government communicates society's expectations
of the school system through it's national education priorities, which are expressed in the National
Education Goals, National Administration Guidelines, and the New Zealand Curriculum.
Schools are expected to contribute to the National
Education Goals and the way they plan to do so should
be reflected in their charters.
|
How does your school contribute
to the National Education Goals and National
Education Priorities?
To what extent are the National
Education Priorities also priority issues
in your school? How was this decided?
|
The Education Act requires all schools to have an
aim of ensuring that all reasonable steps are taken
to provide instruction in tikanga Māori and te
reo Māori for full-time students whose parents
ask for it.
|
What are the aspirations of Māori
parents in your school's community? How
do you know?
If parents want their children
to be taught in te reo Māori how
does your school plan to respond?
