Model making
Ed saw the models that were made of Lothlorien
and Isengard
for The Lord of the Rings and wanted a special place for himself,
Wiki, and Tipani.
- Using clay, plasticine, or junk construction create a model township where you imagine Ed, Wiki and Tipani would live.
- Take a digital photo of your construction, and insert it into
a Microsoft Word or Publisher document.
- Name the place you have built and write a caption underneath explaining the best features.
Email your photo and caption to ed@tki.org.nz

Patupaiarehe
Patupaiarehe have been described as beings with fair skin
and hair that gave Māori the secret of fishing with nets.
- Read the
myth to find out how that happened.
- Illustrate and retell the story in your own words.
- How are the patupaiarehe similar to the elves in The Lord
of the Rings? Look at the Cultures
of the Middle–earth page. Click on elves from the forces
of light section to find out.
Email your illustrated myth and comparison to wiki@tki.org.nz

- Hangaia mai he pikitia, me ōu ake kōrero hei whakaputa i te pakiwaitara nei.
- He pehea nei te rite o nga patupaiarehe ki nga "elves" o te The
Lord of the Rings? Tirohia ngā momo ahurea o te wharangi
mo Middle–earth.
Pēhia te elves mai i te wāhanga Pūngao Mārama
ki te tirotiro.
