Searching TKI

The TKI search page is designed to make searching easy, fast, and effective.

When you use the TKI search, you will only find resources and other websites that have been catalogued and approved by the TKI professional team.

Getting the most out of a TKI search

The TKI Search screen includes filters, keywords, and the users selected search criteria

  1. Choose one or more filters
For a simple search, select a subject area from the second box under the FILTERS heading, on the left-hand side of your screen. These are the communities on TKI – the seven essential learning areas, and the cross-curricular areas of interest such as Gifted and Talented and ICT.

  2. Choose keywords
Keywords will appear in column 2 when you make your choice from column 1. You can select as many keywords as you like.

Remember, when you select something from column 1, you will need to click it again in the central box so it becomes one of your search terms.

  3. Make your search more specific
You can return to column 1 to further refine your search. You can choose an Audience, Language, Resource Level or Resource Type. These are in the top box in the left-hand column.

You can alternate between column 1 and 2 as many times as you like or need.

  4. Add your own terms
You can add your own terms to the search if you like. Do this by typing in the words in box 3 on the search page.

You can take search terms out of your search by choosing the tag next to the term to delete it. If you need to start again, choose the NEW SEARCH button.

  5. Select SEARCH to see your results.
