NZCER has been contracted by the Ministry of Education for three projects related to improving achievement in science education.
The purpose of these projects is to find more effective ways of supporting schools to implement their science curriculum within the framework of The New Zealand Curriculum.
As part of this programme of work, NZCER is asking primary and secondary teachers to complete a short survey
The questions are about the science resources used in your teaching programmes. Your responses are anonymous and your help is greatly appreciated by the project team.

A teacher explains how a class of year 6 students used YouTube videos to share mathematical strategies on a class blog using the YouTube ‘Add annotations’ feature. This not only reinforced learning but also enabled students to share this learning with parents.

Since its inception, the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) action plan, through delivering Incredible Years parent and teacher programmes across the country, has helped identify a child’s behaviour challenges as a learning challenge and has provided teachers, parents/carers, and whānau with tools to turn negatives into positives.

Comic Master is a ‘create your own graphic novel’ software designed to excite Year 6 -10 students about reading and writing.
Using a variety of menus and choices, students can create a their own graphic novel based on a text, or 'from scratch'.
Editing options include character art, speech bubbles, thought bubbles, caption boxes, and special effects
